Firetruck Birthday Party

We've wanted to have a Firetruck Themed Birthday Party for years (when I say we, I guess I mean "me"). I just think it sounded soooo much fun!!!! Well, I must say, it was worth the wait. Nicholas had a GREAT party. All of the kids got to take turns going up in the "basket" on the firetruck (about 40 feet in the air), then everyone got to go on a ride on the firetruck (sirens and all)!!!! I think 4 has to be about the peak age for little boys fascination with big trucks and firefighters, policemen, etc. Even the adults (grown men especially) had a blast. Here's to another fun party!!!

Pinata (per Nicholas' request)

Loading up on the truck (ready to ride)

Harrison and I got a prime seat (up front and not so cold)

Happy Birthday My Sweet Nicholas

Happy 4th Birthday, my precious Nicholas!!! It seems like your "birthday" was just yesterday. I get emotional looking back at all of these pictures (such fun times, such a wonderful little boy). I feel so blessed to have the opportunity of being your mother. You are such a loveable, sensitive, loving, sweet, silly, happy, affectionate, carefree child and I look forward to each and every phase of your life and you growing up. Have a great Birthday!!! Mama and Daddy love you more than you'll ever know.

Adventures with Mama and Gi-Gi at Garvan Gardens

Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, Scottie (Gi-Gi) and I decided to let the guys (Pepka and Ted ) have a day to relax and enjoy the game, so we decided to load my kids along with Jackson up and head to Hot Springs!! The weather wasn't perfect (we got rained on on-and-off), but we had a WONDERFUL time and think that this will be our new post-Thanksgiving tradition. When we got to Hot Springs, Scottie took Grant and Nicholas up to the big tower on the mountain while I sat in the car with sleeping boys. After lunch, we headed out to Garvan Gardens to tour the beautiful grounds all decorated with holiday lights. The pictures don't do it justice, it was simply beautiful!!! We ended our trip roasting marshmallows for Smores, eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate. We returned home around 9:00 with 4 worn out boys and 2 worn out adults!!!

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving was spent at Pepka and GiGi's this year. Everyone had a great time with great food and company. The weather outside wasn't typical "Thanksgiving " weather and the kids enjoyed playing outside. After we left Pepka and Gigi's, we went by to have a piece of pie with Nana and PaPa and don't ask me why they decided to "strip down" when we got there. These pictures aren't in chronological order!

I have to cherish this picture, because hugs are rare for these two!!
